It was even stranger to have been there, at college, with all this knowledge I had acquired coming in, only to be laughed off at first as the weird niche guy for the crime of being my own man before I walked in the room. Even by the professors to start with! I found my people eventually but those first two years (the first full year being 2020) was like being a walking book no one wanted to read.
The friends I made there in both peers and professors are terrific people who I don't take for granted, but the institution itself is a clown-show. I am forever grateful I was spared the debt prison treatment by my financial aid. I left that school with all bills paid, and not a penny owed, and without those refunds, I wouldn't have had the money to start up 365 Infantry. So in a strange way, college worked for me, but maybe not in the way it's intended to in the modern day.
What an inspiring read my friend!
Glad to hear! Thanks for reading.
